I gave it one star because they got some of the Mars scenery correct, more or less. This is without doubt the worst Mars program I have ever seen, and I've seen or read most all of them. I even write about Mars. Leaving aside the endless infomercial aspects, the story itself is absurd. The technical aspects are unbelievable (a ship that size cannot be landed on Mars and the character's suits have no PLSS so where does their oxygen come from?), and everything everything that can possibly go wrong does go wrong. Apollo did a better job 45 years ago! Apollo 13 didn't have this many problems. This will no doubt sound self-serving, and perhaps it is. If you want the real deal read "Margaritifer Basin." Six years in the writing, painstaking technical accuracy, and a rollicking good story. Try it and see for yourself. But don't waste your time with this NatGeo nonsense.
